This is the Armadillo Tea Canopy, which was designed by the incredible architect Ron Arad. Arad is known for his biomorphic steel designs. The Armadillo Tea Canopy isn’t clad in steel, but its biological inspiration is impossible to ignore.

The structure is made up of five molded shells, made from modular components which are joined with visible brass wing head screws and bronze brackets.

Individual shells can be removed to let in more light or simple change the feel of the interior, which offers roughly 20 square meters of space and is open on both ends, and the shells themselves can be made with a variety of finishes to suit the setting. You want one? Click here.
